Rated to 250MHz, this 5m CAT6 lead carries Gigabit Ethernet at up to 100 metres, with 10GBASE-T possible on shorter links of around 55 metres. That headroom makes it a safe default for new office and home networks.
The cable uses unscreened twisted pairs (U/UTP), which is all most homes and offices need. A flexible PVC sheath keeps it easy to handle and route. 24 AWG conductors are the heavier gauge, giving lower resistance on longer leads and with PoE devices.
PoE ready: it can carry power alongside data to cameras, access points and VoIP handsets under IEEE 802.3af, 802.3at and 802.3bt (PoE++), up to 90W at the switch.
Use it where the equipment is a few metres apart, such as a router in the hall and a computer in the next room. Yellow is one of several colours in the range, so you can colour-code by department, VLAN or device type.
