Using the correct plug for your cable is the key to a reliable connection. Plugs are designed for either stranded cable, which is used for flexible patch leads, or solid core installation cable, and for the size of the conductors, so check the plug specification against your cable. Our CAT6 plugs are three-piece plugs with an insert that holds the thicker CAT6 conductors in line, and shielded plugs have a metal shell that connects to the foil screen of FTP and STP cable.
Strip the outer jacket, arrange the wires in the T568B (or T568A) colour order, push them fully into the plug and crimp with an RJ45 crimp tool. Slide an RJ45 boot onto the cable first if you want one, and check every new lead with a cable tester. You can make leads to exactly the length you need from our bulk network cable.
