Choosing a network switch
A switch connects your computers, printers, TVs, games consoles and access points together and to your router, so every device gets its own wired connection. Our 5, 8 and 24 port switches support auto-negotiation and Auto-MDIX on every port, so they work with standard patch cables and set the right speed for each device automatically; just plug them in.
For most networks choose a Gigabit switch, which runs at up to 1000 Mbps and keeps up with fast broadband, file transfers and streaming. 10/100 switches are a budget option for printers, tills, phones and older equipment. Count the devices you need to connect and allow a few spare ports. The 16 port models can be fitted in a 19 inchnetwork cabinet alongside your patch panels.
