A 5m CAT6 Ethernet patch lead rated to 250MHz, good for Gigabit Ethernet at up to 100 metres, with 10GBASE-T possible on shorter links of around 55 metres. That headroom makes it a safe default for new office and home networks.
The cable uses unscreened twisted pairs (U/UTP), which is all most homes and offices need. The PVC jacket is soft and flexible, easy to route around furniture and equipment. Its 24 AWG copper cores are thicker than the 26 AWG found in many patch leads, which helps with longer runs and powered devices.
PoE ready: it can carry power alongside data to cameras, access points and VoIP handsets under IEEE 802.3af, 802.3at and 802.3bt (PoE++), up to 90W at the switch.
Use it where the equipment is a few metres apart, such as a router in the hall and a computer in the next room. In a crowded patch panel, a black lead stands out at a glance.
