This 20m CAT6 patch lead from Nimbus is rated to 250MHz and handles Gigabit Ethernet at up to 100 metres, with 10GBASE-T possible on shorter links of around 55 metres. That headroom makes it a safe default for new office and home networks.
The cable uses unscreened twisted pairs (U/UTP), which is all most homes and offices need. The PVC jacket is soft and flexible, easy to route around furniture and equipment. 24 AWG conductors are the heavier gauge, giving lower resistance on longer leads and with PoE devices.
It supports Power over Ethernet up to IEEE 802.3bt (PoE++), so one cable powers and connects IP cameras, wireless access points and desk phones.
Good for running between rooms or along a corridor where there is no fixed cabling. Choosing black leads for one job (cameras, phones or uplinks, say) makes faults quicker to trace later.
