This 5m OM1 duplex lead uses 62.5/125 multimode fibre, found in older installations and suited to Gigabit links of a few hundred metres.
One end is LC (small push-and-latch, used on SFP modules and dense panels) and the other is SC (square push-pull, common on panels and media converters), so it bridges equipment with different connector types. Being duplex, it has two fibres (transmit and receive) joined side by side.
It is for multimode optics such as SR and SX modules, and should match the fibre grade of the rest of the link. The jacket is LSZH for indoor use in offices and data centres. Jacket colour is orange, the usual colour for OM1.
At 5m it is suited to links between racks or across a comms room.
