A 1.5m CAT6A Ethernet patch lead rated to 500MHz, good for 10GBASE-T across a full 100 metre channel. It is the cable to choose for 10 Gigabit server, storage and uplink connections.
The cable uses a braided outer screen plus foil around every pair (S/FTP), the heaviest screening used on copper patch leads. Screened leads work best when the switch ports and patch panel are screened as well. Its LSZH sheath (low smoke zero halogen) limits smoke and toxic fumes if there is a fire, and is often a requirement in offices, schools and hospitals. Using 26 AWG copper makes it a little thinner and easier to dress neatly than heavier-gauge leads. The RJ45 latch is protected by snagless boots, which stop it hooking on other cables or breaking.
It supports Power over Ethernet up to IEEE 802.3bt (PoE++), so one cable powers and connects IP cameras, wireless access points and desk phones.
Handy at a desk or TV cabinet, and long enough to patch across a rack or to the next cabinet along. In a crowded patch panel, a orange lead stands out at a glance.
