A 20m CAT5e Ethernet patch lead rated to 100MHz, good for Gigabit Ethernet at up to 100 metres. That is plenty for broadband routers, PCs, printers, set-top boxes and most office equipment.
The cable uses an overall foil wrap around the four pairs (F/UTP) to keep outside electrical noise out. For the screen to do its job, pair it with shielded panels, keystones and switch ports. A flexible PVC sheath keeps it easy to handle and route. Using 26 AWG copper makes it a little thinner and easier to dress neatly than heavier-gauge leads. The RJ45 latch is protected by snagless boots, which stop it hooking on other cables or breaking.
At this length it can link rooms, reach a loft or garage office, or connect a distant access point back to the switch. Choosing yellow leads for one job (cameras, phones or uplinks, say) makes faults quicker to trace later.
