Rated to 100MHz, this 1m CAT5e lead carries Gigabit Ethernet at up to 100 metres. For everyday home and office networking that is all the speed you need.
The cable uses unscreened twisted pairs (U/UTP), which is all most homes and offices need. A flexible PVC sheath keeps it easy to handle and route. 26 AWG conductors keep the lead slimmer and more flexible than a 24 AWG cable. The plugs have moulded strain-relief boots for a firm, long-lasting joint.
A good length for the desk: wall socket to PC, router to games console, or a short hop between neighbouring racks. Yellow is one of several colours in the range, so you can colour-code by department, VLAN or device type.
