This 0.5m CAT5e patch lead from Nimbus is rated to 100MHz and handles Gigabit Ethernet at up to 100 metres. That is plenty for broadband routers, PCs, printers, set-top boxes and most office equipment.
The cable uses unscreened twisted pairs (U/UTP), which is all most homes and offices need. A flexible PVC sheath keeps it easy to handle and route. Using 26 AWG copper makes it a little thinner and easier to dress neatly than heavier-gauge leads. The plugs have moulded strain-relief boots for a firm, long-lasting joint.
Use it for tight patching inside a rack, where a longer lead would only end up coiled behind the equipment. Black is one of several colours in the range, so you can colour-code by department, VLAN or device type.
