This 0.5m CAT5e patch lead from Nimbus is rated to 100MHz and handles Gigabit Ethernet at up to 100 metres. For everyday home and office networking that is all the speed you need.
The cable uses unscreened twisted pairs (U/UTP), which is all most homes and offices need. A flexible PVC sheath keeps it easy to handle and route. Using 26 AWG copper makes it a little thinner and easier to dress neatly than heavier-gauge leads. The plugs have moulded strain-relief boots for a firm, long-lasting joint.
Use it for tight patching inside a rack, where a longer lead would only end up coiled behind the equipment. Choosing white leads for one job (cameras, phones or uplinks, say) makes faults quicker to trace later.
