Fitting out a data cabinet

Wall-mounted data cabinets give a small office, shop or home a secure place for the patch panel, switch and router. Measure the height in U (one U is 44.5mm) and allow space for future equipment; deeper cabinets are needed for longer switches and NVRs.

Inside the cabinet, cable managers between patch panels and switches keep leads tidy, shelves hold equipment without rack ears, blanking panels fill empty spaces to help airflow, and a fan tray removes warm air.
