A 0.5m CAT5e Ethernet patch lead rated to 100MHz, good for Gigabit Ethernet at up to 100 metres. That is plenty for broadband routers, PCs, printers, set-top boxes and most office equipment.
The cable uses unscreened twisted pairs (U/UTP), which is all most homes and offices need. An LSZH (low smoke, zero halogen) jacket is used, which is what most building specifications now call for indoors. Using 26 AWG copper makes it a little thinner and easier to dress neatly than heavier-gauge leads. Snagless boots shield the RJ45 clip, so it will not catch when the lead is pulled through a bundle or snap off in use.
Use it for tight patching inside a rack, where a longer lead would only end up coiled behind the equipment. White is one of several colours in the range, so you can colour-code by department, VLAN or device type.
