Rated to 500MHz, this 20m CAT6A lead carries 10GBASE-T across a full 100 metre channel. It is the cable to choose for 10 Gigabit server, storage and uplink connections.
The cable uses a braided outer screen plus foil around every pair (S/FTP), the heaviest screening used on copper patch leads. For the screen to do its job, pair it with shielded panels, keystones and switch ports. The sheath is LSZH, meaning it produces little smoke and no halogen gases in a fire; many commercial and public buildings ask for it. Using 26 AWG copper makes it a little thinner and easier to dress neatly than heavier-gauge leads. Snagless boots shield the RJ45 clip, so it will not catch when the lead is pulled through a bundle or snap off in use.
PoE ready: it can carry power alongside data to cameras, access points and VoIP handsets under IEEE 802.3af, 802.3at and 802.3bt (PoE++), up to 90W at the switch.
At this length it can link rooms, reach a loft or garage office, or connect a distant access point back to the switch. Black is one of several colours in the range, so you can colour-code by department, VLAN or device type.
