This 40m CAT6A patch lead from Nimbus is rated to 500MHz and handles 10GBASE-T across a full 100 metre channel. It is the cable to choose for 10 Gigabit server, storage and uplink connections.
The cable uses a braided outer screen plus foil around every pair (S/FTP), the heaviest screening used on copper patch leads. For the screen to do its job, pair it with shielded panels, keystones and switch ports. The sheath is LSZH, meaning it produces little smoke and no halogen gases in a fire; many commercial and public buildings ask for it. 24 AWG conductors are the heavier gauge, giving lower resistance on longer leads and with PoE devices.
Long runs like this suit temporary networks and hard-to-reach equipment. Copper Ethernet is specified to 100 metres in total. Choosing grey leads for one job (cameras, phones or uplinks, say) makes faults quicker to trace later.
