A 0.25m CAT6 Ethernet patch lead rated to 250MHz, good for Gigabit Ethernet at up to 100 metres, with 10GBASE-T possible on shorter links of around 55 metres. That headroom makes it a safe default for new office and home networks.
The cable uses unscreened twisted pairs (U/UTP), which is all most homes and offices need. Its LSZH sheath (low smoke zero halogen) limits smoke and toxic fumes if there is a fire, and is often a requirement in offices, schools and hospitals. Thin 30 AWG conductors give a slim cable that bends easily and packs densely into busy switches. Slim leads are designed for patching, so keep them to the shorter lengths used inside cabinets and at desks. The RJ45 latch is protected by snagless boots, which stop it hooking on other cables or breaking.
It is sized for in-rack patching between a panel and the switch directly above or below it. Choosing yellow leads for one job (cameras, phones or uplinks, say) makes faults quicker to trace later.
