This 0.3m CAT6A patch lead from Nimbus is rated to 500MHz and handles 10GBASE-T across a full 100 metre channel. It is the cable to choose for 10 Gigabit server, storage and uplink connections.
The cable uses a braided outer screen plus foil around every pair (S/FTP), the heaviest screening used on copper patch leads. For the screen to do its job, pair it with shielded panels, keystones and switch ports. The sheath is LSZH, meaning it produces little smoke and no halogen gases in a fire; many commercial and public buildings ask for it. 26 AWG conductors keep the lead slimmer and more flexible than a 24 AWG cable. Snagless boots shield the RJ45 clip, so it will not catch when the lead is pulled through a bundle or snap off in use.
It supports Power over Ethernet up to IEEE 802.3bt (PoE++), so one cable powers and connects IP cameras, wireless access points and desk phones.
Use it for tight patching inside a rack, where a longer lead would only end up coiled behind the equipment. In a crowded patch panel, a blue lead stands out at a glance.
