Rated to 100MHz, this 6m CAT5e lead carries Gigabit Ethernet at up to 100 metres. For everyday home and office networking that is all the speed you need.
The cable uses unscreened twisted pairs (U/UTP), which is all most homes and offices need. A flexible PVC sheath keeps it easy to handle and route. 26 AWG conductors keep the lead slimmer and more flexible than a 24 AWG cable. Moulded boots support the cable where it meets the plug, reducing strain on the conductors.
At this length it can link rooms, reach a loft or garage office, or connect a distant access point back to the switch. Choosing red leads for one job (cameras, phones or uplinks, say) makes faults quicker to trace later.
