This 0.5m CAT5e patch lead from Nimbus is rated to 100MHz and handles Gigabit Ethernet at up to 100 metres. That is plenty for broadband routers, PCs, printers, set-top boxes and most office equipment.
The cable uses unscreened twisted pairs (U/UTP), which is all most homes and offices need. A flexible PVC sheath keeps it easy to handle and route. Using 26 AWG copper makes it a little thinner and easier to dress neatly than heavier-gauge leads. The plugs have moulded strain-relief boots for a firm, long-lasting joint.
Short lengths like this keep a cabinet neat: patch panel to switch, or switch to switch, with no slack to tie up. Choosing green leads for one job (cameras, phones or uplinks, say) makes faults quicker to trace later.
