This 4m CAT5e patch lead from Nimbus is rated to 100MHz and handles Gigabit Ethernet at up to 100 metres. For everyday home and office networking that is all the speed you need.
The cable uses unscreened twisted pairs (U/UTP), which is all most homes and offices need. The PVC jacket is soft and flexible, easy to route around furniture and equipment. 26 AWG conductors keep the lead slimmer and more flexible than a 24 AWG cable. Moulded boots support the cable where it meets the plug, reducing strain on the conductors.
Use it where the equipment is a few metres apart, such as a router in the hall and a computer in the next room. Choosing white leads for one job (cameras, phones or uplinks, say) makes faults quicker to trace later.
