A 7m CAT5e Ethernet patch lead rated to 100MHz, good for Gigabit Ethernet at up to 100 metres. For everyday home and office networking that is all the speed you need.
The cable uses unscreened twisted pairs (U/UTP), which is all most homes and offices need. The PVC jacket is soft and flexible, easy to route around furniture and equipment. 26 AWG conductors keep the lead slimmer and more flexible than a 24 AWG cable. Moulded boots support the cable where it meets the plug, reducing strain on the conductors.
It covers the distance to an upstairs room, a summer house or a ceiling-mounted access point. Choosing orange leads for one job (cameras, phones or uplinks, say) makes faults quicker to trace later.
