A 0.25m CAT6 Ethernet patch lead rated to 250MHz, good for Gigabit Ethernet at up to 100 metres, with 10GBASE-T possible on shorter links of around 55 metres. It is the everyday choice for offices, homes and small comms rooms.
The cable uses unscreened twisted pairs (U/UTP), which is all most homes and offices need. Its LSZH sheath (low smoke zero halogen) limits smoke and toxic fumes if there is a fire, and is often a requirement in offices, schools and hospitals. At 32 AWG the cable is much thinner than a standard lead, about 2.8mm across, freeing up space and airflow in crowded cabinets. Slim leads are designed for patching, so keep them to the shorter lengths used inside cabinets and at desks.
It is sized for in-rack patching between a panel and the switch directly above or below it. Choosing grey leads for one job (cameras, phones or uplinks, say) makes faults quicker to trace later.
