This 1.5m CAT6 patch lead from Nimbus is rated to 250MHz and handles Gigabit Ethernet at up to 100 metres, with 10GBASE-T possible on shorter links of around 55 metres. It is the everyday choice for offices, homes and small comms rooms.
The cable uses unscreened twisted pairs (U/UTP), which is all most homes and offices need. An LSZH (low smoke, zero halogen) jacket is used, which is what most building specifications now call for indoors. Thin 32 AWG conductors give a slim cable of roughly 2.8mm that bends easily and packs densely into busy switches. Slim leads are designed for patching, so keep them to the shorter lengths used inside cabinets and at desks.
Typical uses are floor box to laptop dock, router to smart TV, or patching between two adjacent cabinets. Yellow is one of several colours in the range, so you can colour-code by department, VLAN or device type.
