This 3m CAT8 patch lead from Nimbus is rated to 2000MHz and handles 25G and 40G Ethernet over short links of up to 30 metres, as well as every slower speed. It is aimed at short, high-speed links in server rooms, such as switch to server within the same row.
The cable uses a screened construction that helps in electrically noisy spaces. For the screen to do its job, pair it with shielded panels, keystones and switch ports. The sheath is LSZH, meaning it produces little smoke and no halogen gases in a fire; many commercial and public buildings ask for it. 26 AWG conductors keep the lead slimmer and more flexible than a 24 AWG cable.
This length crosses a room or an office bay, for example from a router on a shelf to a desk on the far wall. Choosing blue leads for one job (cameras, phones or uplinks, say) makes faults quicker to trace later.
