This 3m CAT5e patch lead from Nimbus is rated to 100MHz and handles Gigabit Ethernet at up to 100 metres. For everyday home and office networking that is all the speed you need.
The cable uses unscreened twisted pairs (U/UTP), which is all most homes and offices need. Its LSZH sheath (low smoke zero halogen) limits smoke and toxic fumes if there is a fire, and is often a requirement in offices, schools and hospitals. Using 26 AWG copper makes it a little thinner and easier to dress neatly than heavier-gauge leads. The RJ45 latch is protected by snagless boots, which stop it hooking on other cables or breaking.
This length crosses a room or an office bay, for example from a router on a shelf to a desk on the far wall. Choosing green leads for one job (cameras, phones or uplinks, say) makes faults quicker to trace later.
