A 1m CAT6 Ethernet patch lead rated to 250MHz, good for Gigabit Ethernet at up to 100 metres, with 10GBASE-T possible on shorter links of around 55 metres. That headroom makes it a safe default for new office and home networks.
The cable uses an overall foil wrap around the four pairs (F/UTP) to keep outside electrical noise out. Screened leads work best when the switch ports and patch panel are screened as well. The sheath is LSZH, meaning it produces little smoke and no halogen gases in a fire; many commercial and public buildings ask for it. 26 AWG conductors keep the lead slimmer and more flexible than a 24 AWG cable. The RJ45 latch is protected by snagless boots, which stop it hooking on other cables or breaking.
Typical uses are floor box to laptop dock, router to smart TV, or patching between two adjacent cabinets. Choosing grey leads for one job (cameras, phones or uplinks, say) makes faults quicker to trace later.
