What to know
Under the EU Construction Products Regulation (CPR), cable installed permanently in a building is classed by how it behaves in a fire, from Fca (lowest) through Eca, Dca, Cca and B2ca up to Aca. The class you need depends on the building and its fire risk assessment: Eca is common for general use, while Dca, Cca and B2ca are often specified for public buildings and escape routes.
