A 10m CAT8 Ethernet patch lead rated to 2000MHz, good for 25G and 40G Ethernet over short links of up to 30 metres, as well as every slower speed. It is aimed at short, high-speed links in server rooms, such as switch to server within the same row.
The cable uses a screened construction that helps in electrically noisy spaces. Screened leads work best when the switch ports and patch panel are screened as well. The sheath is LSZH, meaning it produces little smoke and no halogen gases in a fire; many commercial and public buildings ask for it. Using 26 AWG copper makes it a little thinner and easier to dress neatly than heavier-gauge leads.
It covers the distance to an upstairs room, a summer house or a ceiling-mounted access point. Black is one of several colours in the range, so you can colour-code by department, VLAN or device type.
