Rated to 100MHz, this 4m CAT5e lead carries Gigabit Ethernet at up to 100 metres. That is plenty for broadband routers, PCs, printers, set-top boxes and most office equipment.
The cable uses unscreened twisted pairs (U/UTP), which is all most homes and offices need. Its LSZH sheath (low smoke zero halogen) limits smoke and toxic fumes if there is a fire, and is often a requirement in offices, schools and hospitals. Using 26 AWG copper makes it a little thinner and easier to dress neatly than heavier-gauge leads. Snagless boots shield the RJ45 clip, so it will not catch when the lead is pulled through a bundle or snap off in use.
Long enough to run from a wall port to a desk across the room, or between cabinets in a comms room. In a crowded patch panel, a orange lead stands out at a glance.
