A 2m CAT6 Ethernet patch lead rated to 250MHz, good for Gigabit Ethernet at up to 100 metres, with 10GBASE-T possible on shorter links of around 55 metres. It is the everyday choice for offices, homes and small comms rooms.
The cable uses unscreened twisted pairs (U/UTP), which is all most homes and offices need. The black PE (polyethylene) outer jacket is made for outdoor use, so the lead can be run along walls, fences and between buildings. Moulded boots support the cable where it meets the plug, reducing strain on the conductors.
Typical uses are floor box to laptop dock, router to smart TV, or patching between two adjacent cabinets. Black is one of several colours in the range, so you can colour-code by department, VLAN or device type.
