This 3m CAT8 patch lead from Nimbus is rated to 2000MHz and handles 25G and 40G Ethernet over short links of up to 30 metres, as well as every slower speed. It is aimed at short, high-speed links in server rooms, such as switch to server within the same row.
The cable uses a screened construction that helps in electrically noisy spaces. For the screen to do its job, pair it with shielded panels, keystones and switch ports. An LSZH (low smoke, zero halogen) jacket is used, which is what most building specifications now call for indoors. 26 AWG conductors keep the lead slimmer and more flexible than a 24 AWG cable.
Use it where the equipment is a few metres apart, such as a router in the hall and a computer in the next room. Black is one of several colours in the range, so you can colour-code by department, VLAN or device type.
