When to use ultra slim leads
32 AWG conductors make these leads far thinner than a standard patch cable, so a fully populated switch or patch panel stays neat and air can still flow through the cabinet. They bend easily in tight spaces and are popular for high-density patching.
Thin conductors have higher resistance, so ultra slim leads are designed for short patching within a rack or at a desk rather than long runs. For longer leads or high-power PoE, a 24 AWG cable is the better choice.
